Problem with File name Lookup

Hi,

I have been having a bit of a problem getting a couple of episodes of "Trailer Park Boys" to download their metadata. It was always the same episodes which weren't getting metadata but the other episodes all worked. All my episodes are prefixed with S01E01, S01E02, etc and the parent folder is called Trailer_Park_Boys. I can see in the logs that Serviio had detected the file but didn't get the metadata (which is on the http://www.thetvdb.com site). I have tried forcing the metadata and even removing and putting back the Trailer_Park_Boys folder but it is always the same episodes which get missed.

This morning I noticed that all the episodes which get missed have "Trailer" in the File name so I renamed two episodes and remove "Trailer". When Serviio re-detected the file it pulled the Metadata down without any issues. It looks like Serviio may be doing something funny when it is doing a series lookup if the parent folder and the file name contain the same words....

S01E01 & S02E01 have been renamed and "Trailer" removed from the file name (Metadata now detected)
S02E04 & S03E02 Still have "Trailer in the file name (Metadata not detected)

(The files with "f**K" have been renamed just for this forum they don't appear like this on the file names)

Hi, I think you found a 'bug', although that's also a feature. Basically any filenames including 'trailer' are not passed for metadata searching, because I assume they are not full movies - but that makes sense mainly for movies (e.g. Titanic - trailer.avi would not be shown as Titanic (the movie itself), but Titanic - trailer - just using the file name) and not series.

I guess I could apply this behaviour to movies only (I think the same happens to filenames with 'sample' in it). Obviously if a movie name actually includes Trailer or Sample words then these would not get metadata. Something to think about.

Can you create a bitbucket bug report if you want this fixed?
