Sound sync feature

Hi all. Newbie enters the forum. Don't know if this is possible at all. But adding - + sound delay(in ms), like you can do in VLC-player would be nice. But I suspect that this is more a issue that have to do with the built in player in the tv rather than the serviio server. I have Samsung UE40C6000 series LED-TV.

I don't know about any TV or AV receiver that corrects a media file that is recorded/created with sound/picture out of sync. However there is a lot of software players that can correct this, VLC-player being one of them. I was just hoping that it would be possible to advance or retard the sound. I'm not sure if sound and picture/movie are transmitted separate in DLNA protocol, but if they are, should it not be possible?

they are streamed exactly as where they sit in the file, ie simultaneously

So files I know are in perfect sync, but do not play in sync, using both Serviio and SAMSUNG PC Share Manager(worse on this one), the reason(s) are? The built in player in the TV(TV-firmware issues)?

Are you on wireless or wired connection? If wireless, any change to try wired?

Wired or wireless, makes no difference.. Sometimes the sound starts out in sync and slowly goes out, and vice versa. Also if starting to view a season of a series, the first few episodes starts out in sync, but then the later ones goes out of sync. 100ms-1000ms+ out.

A note: I'm getting this too and I'm going to try to figure this out. I can usually correct it by hitting reverse on my Bravia and let it back up a few seconds which makes me think the stream is good since a hard sync fixes it. This means it's the TV fault. I also haven't seen this in mplayer on the same exact media files.

It takes at least 10 minutes for the sound to start getting out of sync enough to be noticeable by my GF which is around 500ms probably. I'll do some experimentation on the Serviio ffmpeg output this weekend to see if the output file has these issues. It hard to test since it takes a long time to manifest itself.

I'm seeing this too on my samsung LE40C650. The files play okay when played on the PC. While playing on the tv the sound is in and out of sync alternating..

It happens not with all files. Mostly VOB files which cause the issue.

i have noticed this alittle lately and some lag issue too, im not entirely sure whats doing it yet but seem to be after i have played a few video file in a row let serviio jump to the next file on its own with out pressing stop and selecting the next file, it seems to me that serviio is buffering out the stream cause this would cause the issue you are all experiencing. Can someone else try out this theory and see if they get same findings and then we can maybe narrow down your issue and find way for zip to be able to fix it.

Sony DLNA clients allow for sound re-sync (Bravia and BD Players), however they only allow it in one direction which seems crazy. And it doesn't seem to work with transcoded or remuxed streams unfortunately.

Well, this DLNA business is all over for me. I hooked up my server(more like a HTPC, now I guess) directly via HDMI to my TV. The issue with Samsung ue40c6000 is that it is delivered with two different mainboards. And you don't know what you are getting before you buy it. My version is as displayed in my signature by firmware version. With my version I am fu...d. There is no solution in sight. The audio sync problem is so severe that it's ruining the wireless feature all together. So enough is enough. Too bad as Serviio is far superior to Samsungs pc share, with the exception of resumed play. And that is to be implemented in the next version. When and if at all possible, a audio sync feature is implemented. I will be back as a DLNA Serviio user. I would like to thank Zip for making this software, you really are good at what you are doing, so thx for that. Cheers....

The Samsung UE40C6000 and UE46C6000 series are shipped with 2 different mainboards using 2 different firmwares.

T-MSX6DEUC-1002.1 -- with this firmware you will get audio sync issues at current time and there nothing that can be done about it..

(Samsung Support have been replacing the main board that uses this firmware for SOME customers )

T-VAL6DEUC-1014.0 -- With this firmware you will not get audio sync issues.

No, UE40C6000, UE46C6000, UE406005 and UE406005(they may all be fitted with the junk version of motherboard). Could be other models too, if they are using the same mainboard with the junk firmware.....

NO other models are fitted with this board and its UE40C6xxx SERIES if you want to get to symantics and to be honest you hijacked a sony topic, with samsung information but oh well.

and the fact that if you contact samsung you may even get this fixed by them but ah well guess you can not be bothered and just wish to complain.
