Re: View/edit metadata library

I'd be just happy with if we can view the library from the Serviio console just like how Twonky does it
Sony Bravia 2010 52NX803 - Sony PS3 - Xbox 360
Serviio running on QNAP NAS 639 Pro - 1.6 Intel Dual Core - 2GB RAM and QNAP NAS 121 - 2Ghz ARM Marvell - 1GB RAM
Console using ServiiDroid for Android, ServiiMetro and ServiiWP for Windows Phone and WebUI for iOS

This wont happen console is desgin to just be used to setup serviio and then not be used again, its not a media manager, there are plenty of programs out there to manage and edit metadata.

xbmc - designed so you can make your own metadata file you have to include in the same directory as your movie

therenamer - allow you to serach imdb/tvdb for your files and assign the correct name and release date so that online metadata search done by serviio then finds the correct metadata for you.

and many many others if you search on google.

Re: View/edit metadata library

It would be great if there would be a small application for editing the metadata of the movies ... it would be just perfect

I have installed serviio on Snology nas. How can I access the database? in RazorSQL there is a possibility to connect to an Apache Derby DB on network, but where can I find the database on the nas?

Thanks for your help ...
Using: Serviio on Synology DS413j and Sony Bravia KDL-46HX800.

Re: View/edit metadata library

First, you have to stop the Serviio process. This version of Derby is a single connection only, so if Serviio is running nothing else can connect to it. Next, you need a SQL client that supports Derby. I use squirrel SQL. They have instructions on their web site that explains how to configure Squirrel to connect to a Derby Embedded DB.

As to where the DB is located, I can only tell you where it is on my Windows Server. My guess is once you find the Serviio installation, the file structure should be the same. My Serviio in installed to the C:\Program Files\Serviio folder. The DB is under library\db. If your NAS runs some flavor of Linux, these paths are probably case sensitive. Since your Serviio is on a NAS, you need to be able to browse to the DB file location from the computer running the SQL client, via a mapped drive letter or UNC path. If your NAS doesn't share that path, you may have to create one.
