Expand Dynamic Category Visibilit To Specific Client Devices

Right now you can choose which dynamic categories are available globally. It would be great if you can set a global and then for specific client devices to be allowed to have an override to the global.

This brilliant idea is already in Serviio Pro, well worth the upgrade!

Re: Expand Dynamic Category Visibilit To Specific Client Dev

I have Serviio Pro by the way, and that is not really the same thing. The pro feature you are referring to is limiting the FOLDERS that are under a "global restriction". Serviio only has two GLOBAL groups full and restricted and they are folder based, they are not tied to the specific client device.

I cannot have one client be restricted differently than another, and none of this has any impact of the dynamic categories at all. Basically the feature I am requesting is going beyond just two global groups.

TO play with the existing feature being able to create user defined global groups that are folder restricted would solve my issue. The dynamic categories sould be based on the files in the group so as long as the folder structure was laid out in a specific way then it would have the same results as my feature I requested, and may be easier to implement since Serviio already has two global groups it may be easier to extend this feature to allow user created (and named) global groups.
