LG TV and Ogg to MP3 transcoding.

Hello. I've searched the forum and can see people have had issues with LG TVs not supporting OGG files. Mostly they say they are just not supported (not supported errors) but they should play with transcoding. I can get the TV to list the files with a simple transcode entry and they try to play BUT they come through with whistles, pops, squeaks, a weird sort of echo, and at a tempo slightly faster than they should. Is there a way to work out if this is an issue with the original files, something missing from my transcode profile, an issue with the transcoder, or an issue with the telly (after all if it's being sent a proper MP3 stream it should play OK, right?).

All I've added in to the default LG* profile (profile id 8) is this:

Hi zip. I've looked at these settings (I could only only find 'aBitrate' in the schema. http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=24 ) and tried a few things out. It doesn't make any appreciable difference. I've tried things like this:

All of my ogg files have a sample rate of 44100. It does not seem to make a difference if that's in there or not. It's hard to be sure but the bit rate may speed/slow the playback. The playback speed does change, though, throughout a file which makes me suspect it's something to do with variable bitrates. None of the ogg files have a VBR but they all have different rate of encoding (ranging from 27 to 300 - which suprised me). Maybe the TV is expecting a variable bitrate? There's certainly something weird going on with the metadata as the TV does not always show track name/length etc. When playing with the two attributes above I sometimes got "file invalid" errors at the TV.

I'm wondering if there's a way to record the output at the TV and upload it. It may sound familiar to someone...

I've managed to get a perfect transcode working using mediamonkey (the quality is low but that's to be expected trasncoding lossy to lossy but there are no weird artifacts - whistles, popt etc - that were reported in serviio). I'll be testing this across a range of files more thoroughly and if it's consistent post a bug/flaw with serviio if you think it of interest, else serviio willl just be uninstalled as mediamonkey will probably do all that I want.

I'm having no transcoding problems with mediamonkey so far so will probably post a bug report at some point. What info would you need? Logs? Copies of transcoded files?

can you see what command mediamonkey uses for the transcoding job?

I'll try and get one but will need to use sysinternals to grab a debug log and I'm not sure what it'll produce (http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=69). Bear with me.

*Hide Cache folder
without success. But found an issue at this moment.
