Cant forward/rewind using ServiioGO on android streaming with MX player (or any other player). Is it possible to add this feature ? Works fine with BubbleUPnP or UPnPlay.

Which quality are you using? It should work with Original, but not with Medium or Low. I'm working on it but it may have to wait until Serviio can transcode to HLS before I can write a video player that works across all devices, at the moment my prototype only works on the Nexus 7.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Hi Will,

Thanks so much for the great app. I'm just getting to grips with it and find that the Serviigo music player repeats my music tracks instead of continuing to the next track in sequence (whether in the same folder or in the playlist I made in Serviigo music player). I've looked in the settings but can't find a 'repeat' option. Any ideas what could be causing that?

Best Rgds,
Graham

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I just browsed up a few posts and saw that jayk had excatly the same problem (his post Feb 22nd). The 'repeating' also occurs for me whether on home network or externally via port-forwarding. I am also in Serviio 1.1 pro-trial period. Most of my music files are .wma format though

What device do you have? The other user who has this problem only experiences it with a galaxy note.

Ok, SG2 is fairly popular with this app and I haven't had any other reports for it. I'm going to see if I can find anything about it next week. I assume you are running ICS on it?

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Is there any progress on last.fm scrobbling? I'm waiting for that to be included before I use Serviio/Serviigo as an Audiogalaxy replacement - unlike other software I've tried, everything else is more or less there feature-wise and FLAC streaming over 3G has worked fairly well for me so far.

Also, could an option be added to show all Artists in one long list instead of divided up by letter and then in thumbnail view? It'd make access to songs quicker IMHO. I'd also like to have Album Artists (a tag I never use) replaced with Albums, which would be a long list of albums instead of having to go through Album Artists -> U -> Unknown like at present...

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Hi, I haven't had a chance to implement it, although I have had a look into it, as I was busy with some internal changes that will improve the app in the future. Realistically I won't have a chance to do it this month as I'm determined to get some of the features that keep getting pushed back implemented, but will try to look at it after.

Those changes are all server side (short of me making 26 requests to get the list of artists) changes so could you file them on Serviio's issue tracker. I have an open ticket for more audio related presentation categories, so you could add album one against that, or start a new one.

Getting lots of Unknown album artists entries is usually down to missing tags or not set the way serviio expects. If they have the fields set, make a thread showing information about them so that Serviio can detect the information properly. I know there used to be problems if files had two types of ID3 tags.

Thanks for the update Will, looking forward to it in a future version. I'll add a request for an album view to your existing ticket, had no idea it was a server-side change!

EDIT: Would it be possible to add the ability to move songs up and down within the play queue as well? (I'm just trialling 1.2 before forking out for Pro hence only now discovering what is and isn't possible with the system)

Would you want to move one tack or multiple tracks? I have some plans for re-doing the playlist (both management and the UI), but I'm more than open to suggestions.

I've just seen that there a number of Last.fm scrobble apps e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... dam.aslfms which allow you to enter your Last FM details in a single place and then other music player apps send now playing information to the scrobble app, which then talks to last.fm. This would mean you would need to install a second app on your phone, but it would significantly reduce the intergration effort required on my part. How does that sound?

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Both really, although I'd probably be moving individual tracks more often.

I have no objections to installing a second app to get Last.fm scrobbling as long as it works properly but looking at that one, it doesn't appear to support Serviio at first glance? I'll have a play with it though (as well as any other similar apps) but I'm going to try Subsonic again first, which seems to have improved drastically since I last tried it and is geared more towards audio anyway...

It doesn't support ServiiGo yet (well more, ServiiGo doesn't support it), but it wouldn't be hard for me to add support for it.

Will, I also have a thread open re: playback in Media Browser and wonder if the issues are related. If so, then the issue is perhaps not with your app at all. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9452

EDIT - I don't think they are related now - seems that issue was more to do with the browser I was using.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I've been playing around with 3rd party video libraries that can be intergrated into an app and found one that looks quite good (although they aren't clear over the license so I may not be able to use it). Anyway, here is a preview with it included https://bitbucket.org/willlunniss/servi ... .2-PRE.apk

After downloading it, go into setting and tick the box to enable the built in video player, and then try to play a range of different files. From a playback perspective there is no difference between Medium/Low so just test Original and either Medium or Low. Please then tell me the following:

Device Info:
Device
Android Version
Stock/Custom ROM

Video Info:
File container, video codec, audio codec, resolution (or just ffmpeg -i <file>)
Selected quality
Does video work?
Does audio work?
Does seeking work?

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Hello!

I apologize in advance if this has already been asked elsewhere. I am not getting high-res album art.

I am using ServiiGo 2.1.2 (with Donate) on a Galaxy Note II (stock, not rooted).
I am connecting across the internet to Serviio Pro 1.2 installed on a Fedora 18 system at home.
I know that the donate key has taken, because my cache max size is now 1GB.

All of my audio is flac, with both embedded art as well as cover.jpg files in the directories--directory structure is separated by album.

Thus far I have turned off image thumbnails as well as usage of cover.jpg for music on the server side to see if that would help. I erased all existing cache files and deleted all data for the app on my Note II after making those changes, and reconnected to the server from scratch, but no change. For a flac with a 414kb cover, I am getting an 11kb file in my AlbumArt cache (which is exactly the same size as the file downloaded into the thumbnail cache).

Are there settings in ServiiGo or on the Serviio server that I need to change/look at that are required for me to get full-res art?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Could you copy one of the cached audio files back onto your computer and have a look at the artwork embedded into it. The way it works is once the music file has completely downloaded (transcoded to mp3 in the case of flac), the app tries to extract artwork from it, and then overwrite the low res thumbnail, so you need to have played the track first.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

That's definitely the issue... compared the original flac and the mp3 that was downloaded to my Note II...

I lost exactly two things, the year, and the album cover. Every other tag survived the transcode, but no year is set, and there is no art embedded at all in what was downloaded.

I'm guessing that this is something I need to change in the transcoding profiles? I'm not sure where to start--everything is currently default from the linux download of Serviio 1.2. Any pointers? Or do you think the problem may be something else?

Thanks again!
