Serviio and OAR

Is it possible that Serviio will ever get updated to display movies in their OAR? I have a few video files that are not exact 16:9 ratios and these are always stretched to fill the screen. I tried a free trial of Mezzmo and it plays these videos in their OAR, but Serviio does not.

I have used the search and saw a couple threads regarding movies not displaying in their OAR, but there was no real solution.

Also, I have noticed the audio on some files sound pretty terrible in comparison to using Mezzmo/PS3 Media Server.

The only issues I really have with Serviio is the OAR and low quality audio for some files. It also has the occasional issue where some videos will suddenly say "Cannot read file" only minutes into the video and will not continue. None of these are issues with Mezzmo however. I would rather use Serviio though because it seems to be much quicker overall.

Is there a work around for any of these issues? (Specifically the OAR issue. I can live with the other issues).

Thanks guys and keep up the good work on Serviio. Fantastic media server outside of this issue.

Re: Serviio and OAR

it that file transcoded? post ffmpeg -i of the file and profile you are using.

Also enable detailed logging and post the log of playing the file (incl. the ffmpeg command if there is one)

Re: Serviio and OAR

I don't think one of the particular files is transcoded. It's a .mp4 file and I believe the Panasonic ST50 can play that properly, but I could be wrong.

I am not sure if the OAR issue is because of videos that are not a proper resolution (such as 1280x500 or 1920x 800) or if it only happens when files are transcoded. I have a .mkv file that is 1280x720 and it displays just fine. It's weird though because Mezzmo plays all of them (regardless of transcoding/resolution) in OAR.

I am using the Panasonic Viera profile for Panasonic's that do NOT have .avi support.

I will try to get that information to you when I get home tonight.

How Mezzmo delivered this mkv file, in native format, remux in mpegts or transcoded to mpeg2video ?

Re: Serviio and OAR

I'll check on that when I get home.

Now, should videos be displaying in their OAR if the ratio is not an exact 1920x1080 or 1280x720 or will it always try to stretch the picture with odd ratios like 1280 x 500? It doesn't do this for Mezzmo like I said, but I am curious how Serviio is setup in this regard.

I will try to see if I have any .avi files that are a proper resolution to test this later as well. I am trying to find a list of formats that the TV will accept for DLNA, but I cannot find anything. The only one I know for sure that the TV doesn't support is .avi without a profile for it.
