Metadata Series Identification

The process by which Serviio trys to determine a series name and episode number is well documented here:
http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=12

Unfortunately this does not work with my naming scheme and I was hoping it might be possible to add support for this in a future release as I can´t be the only person who stores their media in this way.

An example path (linux style forward slashes) for one of my video files is listed below:
videos/American Dad/Series 3/303 - Dope and Faith.mp4

As you can see this naming scheme makes it is impossible to determine the series from just the file name - the entire path is required.

It would be great to have this feature available to me, but I am sure there are much more important things on your plate so either way thanks for an awesome product and keep up the good work! :D

Re: Metadata Series Identification

At the moment I belive it will look at the parent folder, in your case Series 3, which wouldn't be enough. File a ticket on bit bucket (see link in my sig) and link back to this thread. Shoudln't be too much to look up one level more in the case where the parent folder contains Series X or Season X.

Re: Metadata Series Identification

Hi Will thanks for your response.

Sounds like this could be quite an easy "fix", fingers crossed.

I opened a ticket at: https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... tification and provided the link for this posting at the bottom as well.
