Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Hi

Use this app and it is fantastic.

When at work, and because I do not fwd Serviios' ports on my router, I use VPN to connect. This works perfectly over wifi however not over 3G when using VPN. It tells me that is will only connect over wifi. I understand the logic in this traditionally, however it seems to be a slight bug.

It's not really a problem, but I thought that I would mention it.

Thanks
Nitin

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Long click on the sever (when at the list of servers) and uncheck 'require wifi' or add a new one with the IP you use to access your server over your vpn and don't check that box.
By default all servers found automatically are set to require wifi as in most cases they do, this then prevents the new files checker from having to wake the phone when on 3G/prevents time outs and alters the user if they loose wifi when they need it.

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Will I've just noticed I can't pick the folder I want add on Serviio using some visual file/folder browser, I've always used Marks Web UI to do this.

Could this be added? :)

No, its not really possible. The WebUI can do it because it has access to the filesystem (if you ran the webui on a different server and pointed it to a server running serviio it would give you folders for the server running the webserver, not serviio. Similarily, if you run the official console on a remote pc, you can only type in the path).

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Awsome, thanks for the link. In other news, ServiiDroid just hit 25,000 downloads today :)

I'll have some free time in a few weeks, so I'll try to get a Light theme implemented along with adjusting fonts and sizing to make it look a bit better on tablets.

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Thats a big achievement! Onto 50,000 i hope, please users consider donating on this amazing app!
Tablet adjustments will be really cool, as you can see from the TechRadar screenshots, the buttons appear oversized

Big Request: Doubt it would be possible but i can try ;)
Ive installed XBMC on my Android phone/tabled from here

Ive made this Serviio guide how to capture rtmp links in the xbmc logs and export to Serviio
Is it possible at all for ServiioDroid to collect links played in XBMC and import the chosen one in Serviio. This way i can watch iPlayer live, Demand 5 and live sports very easily without using a PC
logs are stored in external storage/sdcard at: Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/temp/xbmc.log

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Yes hopefully.

It should technically be possible, at least with root access, but I think it would be a lot of work and very few users would use it, so I would much rather focus on other improvements, so no.

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Massive improvement on the tablet!!

Few suggestions:
- The coloured circles in "Status" is too big, the coloured circles in "Devices" just the right size
- The biggest one is, the is now soo much space in "Status", more than half is empty space, would be GREAT if "Devices" becomes part of this unused space - just like the Windows console

Ok, I'll look at the status icons.

That is something I would like, but still investigating the best way to do it.

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Is it possible to customise ordering of the tabs on the top?

For example, now ive got my Serviio setup just the way i like it, its now primary used to add Online Sources
You can give the user a choice to let them order their tabs they like.
So now i would prefer Status - Online Sources - Devices - Shared Folders - Advanced

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Just had a quick look over the code, it doesn't look like its too tightly coupled to the ordering (I think I wrote it so that It would be easy to have any new tabs hiden on old server versions), so I'll investigate it at the same time as intergrating devices into status for 10" tablets, which I might get round to doing tomorrow but may not be till a bit later on.

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

I need a few testers please. I've been re-writing the backend of the ui stuff to help squash some bugs, but need to ensure I haven't introduced any new ones. I've also combined the status and devices view on large tablets, so could do with some testers for that as well.

You can install this over your current version, and once the final one it out you will be able to update through google play.

Re: ServiiDroid (Android Console) - Get it on Google Play

Will!! Your a star! Thankyou for making devices in status section as suggested! Looks perfect!

The coloured circles for server status and library status still looks big compared to Devices coloured circles
May look better if the "Start", "Stop" and "Refresh" button are aligned to the same level

Bug: i cant access any of the Advanced options

I'll drop the size down a little bit more then. Could do, they might still get miss aligned if you add a file with a long name.

Um.. as in cannot go on the tab, or cannot click on them. Its working fine for me.
