Remember data on external drives.

I store all my movies on 2 large usb3 hard drives. Sometimes I unplug them when I'm not using them. I was hoping serviio could one day not scan and remove all my media from the database when my drive is unplugged. Instead maybe only hide that data from the clients till the drive is plugged in.

Main reason i unplug it is usb 3 drives I have don't stop spinning when the computer is turned off. but that's another issue.

Re: Remember data on external drives.

It already can do this. look at this link.

http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=pc5dczc_console_explained

All you have to do is uncheck the box in the orange area for the folders on the removal drive. Then when you add or change something on the drive you will have to enable the box and force refresh to update it and then unselected it again.

Oh I didn't think about that. I'd still like it so it scanned the drives when they were plugged in but I guess I'll just need to push the force rescan when I add something new. Thank you.

Re: Remember data on external drives.

Detecting when a drive is connected would be pretty hard, there is so many drive interfaces that I am not sure how you could do it.

There are a few ways that you can access the console information.

You can look here http://forum.serviio.org/viewforum.php?f=17 and see if any of them will make it easier to tell serviio to rescan a removable drive.
