FlowPlayer transcoding.

Hi,

I am running Serviio v1.0.1 on my QNAP Nas but i have a problem when i want to play any MVK files online.
The only thing i se if i select LOW or MEDIUM quality is some jagget pixels, it works fine in ORGINAL quality.
I have tryed to change the application-profiles.xml for OnlineTranscoding but can't get it to work. :(
perhaps there are someone in this forum there can help me?

Re: FlowPlayer transcoding.

What is your OS? If Linux, make sure to check your FFmpeg is up-to-date.

Re: FlowPlayer transcoding.

Is there a way to stream via the Internet without requiring that the file be transcoded before viewing? Each time I go to play one of my video files, the Serviio server proceeds to transcode the file even though I do not have this option enabled in the server. I was hoping that it would begin streaming the file directly. Thank you for your response. I updated the FFMpeg file this morning but that did not resolve the issue.

Not for MediaBrwoser, which requires FLV files. The transcoding setting in console doesn't have any effect on the remote streaming.

Re: FlowPlayer transcoding.

So...is there any setting that can be adjusted to allow for the transcoding process to move more quickly, or to work in a buffering fashion so one does not have to wait until the transcoding is complete before viewing the video. As it is now, one would have to plan what they are going to watch while away to avoid sitting there watching the Flow Player spin while transcoding takes place. Perhaps in the next release of Serviio? My goal is to be able to access my media files on both my mobile devices and my laptop (would like to watch on internet connected TVs or connect my laptop to the TV for display purposes) Thank you!

Serviio currently transcodes on the Fly so you should be able to watch it as soon as you start. There might be a little time as the player buffers.

Re: FlowPlayer transcoding.

Unfortunately, buffering does not appear to be occurring during the transcoding process. I have watched as the file transcodes and playback does not begin until the transcoding process has completed. This does not make for an enjoyable viewing experience as it takes some time for transcoding to complete, especially if the file is a full length film.

Re: FlowPlayer transcoding.

can you stop serviio rename your current serviio.log file. enable detailed logging (see signature), start serviio and try and play the file using flowplayer and post the serviio.log file here.

That is weird. It should start plying immediately after transcoding starts. Do you have the latest Flash on your PC?
