Forwarding, subtitles problem with some mkv's

Hi all,

I have been using Serviio since a while and quite like it. Thanks to the Serviio team for giving this wonderfull application for free. I have Windows 7 home premium running on my Acer Revo3700 PC with Samsung UE55ES6300 TV.

Most of the files (mkv's that I usually play on TV via Serviio DLNA's stream) work fine but just a few of them create problems. The typical problem with a few files is that in TV the player doesnt allow to forward or rewind them (in Tools option of the TV it doesnt show the option of Time search or subtitles). Today I encoutered this problem again and thought would post here maybe there is some workaround or maybe this can be fixed in any new version.

it is quite annoying when watching movie in the last 10 minutes it disconnects somehow and then i cannot resume it again to the same point.

Attached is Serviio's log and mkv file's infos.

PS: I killed the ffmpeg process today a few times to watch the rest of the mkv on the media payer to free the CPU usage, it maybe visible in the log but it was after i stopped watching that MKV.

Thanks a lot for any help and let me know if you need any further information from me.

Try this: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7547&p=53449&hilit=mkvHeaderCompressed#p53449

You can also try removing these lines from the C/D/E profile:

  Code:
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high" levelGreaterThan="4.2" />
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="main" levelGreaterThan="4.2" />

Re: Forwarding, subtitles problem with some mkv's

thanks, it did help.

I tried both suggestions which helped resolve problem for most of the mkvs except one which wasnt playable at all by serviio after these changes (it probably requires transcoding) although previously it was playing but without ff option. So added again the two lines from second suggestion. Now the ff problem is solved for many files but some still have the same issue.

Still better than before.
