Selective Remuxing / transcoding

I have a question about the rendering profile. My tv is a panasonic ST50, newer than the latest profiles and i wanted to create a profile just for it. if I'm reading the help correctly, it looks like you have to list what you want transcoded and only that will be transcoded. i'm currently trying to work out the MKV container as that is the majority of content I have.

My tv suports 4 or so video codecs and another 5 or 6 audio codecs. what i was hoping to do was to list the supported codecs and say not to transcode those, but to transcode everything NOT listed. Is that possible? That way i wouldn't have to worry about every possible combination that needs to be trasncoded and could instead focus on the limited set that does NOT need to be transcoded. It seems like it'd be better because that way i wouldn't miss a combination, etc. One of the reasons i had this thinking was when looking at the codecs MKV supports, i get answers that say "virtually everything", so I don't have a complete list to write out a blacklist that needs transcoding.

if i'm way off base, please let me know. currently, i have a lines that transcod the major video codecs not supported, then a line at the end to catch everything else that just remuxes all MKV's into MPEGTS. but that means every MKV is remuxed and I'd rather have it not done if not needed because it's slightly changing the aspect ratio from the originals.

thanks,

adam

On profile, you does not list what is supported by your device but what is not supported and in which format you want to transcode it.
