Transcoding MKV/AVI on Panasonic DMR-PWT530

New to Serviio and so far liking it alot. Installed on my Win7 Pro system before going to my Synology DS214Play. For me it's easier this way as I'm not that good on Linux systems, although I can get around.

I can get transcoding of MKV & AVI videos to work OK except that Pause, FF or Rewind cause it to totally hang. This device will stupidly only play MP4/MOV over DLNA!

I've attached the Device Spy breakdown & the xml for the profile I'm using so any advice is welcome (please).

BTW I've got my Panasonic DMP-BD75 Bluray player to work with MP4 which it won't play over DLNA. Why can't Panasonic be consistent!

You seem to be limiting the bit rate for your video excessively:

<Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" maxVBitrate="2000" targetACodec="ac3" DAR="16:9">

What was your thinking there? Try removing the bit in red.

If this is your main device, why not remux all your MKV's to MP4. Removes the need for transcoding and you'll get a better experience (ffwd, rwd, pause all should work)

I was limiting the bitrate to reduce some stutter I was getting, but that was just testing.

Yes I could remux to MP4 but most of my devices handle MKV (and not MP4) which this Panasonic doesn't hence the transcoding need.

This is no longer an issue as I've just got a new smart TV (Panasonic TX42AS650) which has DLNA & handles all formats , except the odd avi in Divx, and the PWT530 will just record TC & play Bluray. No need for it as a DLNA device.
