My Experience...

This is the best media server I have come across! I have had some issues though... For example I have a set of four Divx avi files from the same source which stream to my Sony BDP-S570 perfectly, but error on a Panasonic Viera TV. However this seems to be an issue with the TV as the same files on a USB stick would not play either. Oddly, when burnt on to a DVD a Panasonic Blu-ray player played them fine!

My only other minor gripe is I own a Yamaha AV amp which also supports media streaming (for music only). When I was using WMP11 it worked fine. However, though Serviio can see my amp as an unknown device, the amp itself cannot see Serviio. Any ideas how I can fix this, as I have to now play streamed MP3 files through my Sony BDP-S570 instead (which is hooked up to the Yamaha Amp)?

Keep up the good work.

Chris.

Re: My Experience...

Ok. I am at work at the moment. I cannot remember the exact model number. I can dig out the manual and detail what file formats it supports etc, when I get home.

Thanks.

Re: My Experience...

I assume that the player uses Search method for browsing media, which is not supported by Serviio (only Browse method is). Detailed log should confirm this.

No, I think that after this it'll invoke method GetSearchCapabilities() and Serviio returns 'non supported'

Is it non supported then? Or does it just need a profile? I have the dump from the Intel UPnP Tool if that helps, but its quite a large block of text?

Re: My Experience...

I've made a start on a profile:
  Code:
   <Profile id="14" name="Yamaha Rx-N600D" extendsProfileId="1">
      <Detection>
         <HttpHeaders>
            <User-Agent>YAMAHA Network Receiver</User-Agent>
         </HttpHeaders>
      </Detection>
   </Profile>

The Console now names my amp! Not sure what the next step is though! :?

This is the serviio sink result, we need your yamaha renderer GetProtoccolInfo sink result.
Did it appear on the device list with INTEL tools?

Oh! No then. The only item under Devices is Serviio. If I turn on my Sony BDP-S570 it appears! Is that that then? :(

Edit: Bit of background on the RX-N600D. The manual states it needs Windows Media Connect 2.0 to stream mp3 and wma files. However this is not compatible with WMP11. So I updated the firmware in the amp from Yamaha's website. It then streamed mp3 and wma files from WMP11. Serviio can see it, but it cannot see any music on my PC! :(

Re: My Experience...

Is that all, nothing after the first log you posted? It asks for serviio's description and nothing after that. That is weird. It should work if that is the case.

All other devices on my network are now off. I'll do a clean log with just the Yamaha amp on...

Log attached. It snapshot as it still updating with the repeating Yamaha bit shown above...

I've added the following to profiles.xml:
  Code:

Its ok, as my BDP- S570 is hooked up to the same amp and it works perfectly with Serviio. Actually thinking on it the user front end on the Sony is streets ahead of the Yamaha anyway so I use it for my music.

Only thing I have noticed is some of my music is missing album, artist details etc on the Sony so I need to check the ID tags in the MP3! Something to do when I am bored! :)

Thanks for the help though! :)

Edit: Turns out that the Sony BDP-S570 does not like Lyric tag in MP3 files. Once removed all the track details appear.
