Serviio

I'm running v-2.2.1 in a Truenas jail.
I have a library folder that has a large number of corrupt files.
I am working to eliminate all of the corrupt files with mpck.

In Serviio I selected delete on the folder's drop down and hit Save. Serviio ran for quite a while before Error 500.


Now, when I try again, I get Error 500 almost immediately, again and again, so I am unable to remove the folder from the library.

How can I fix this?

Could you post a copy of your Serviio log? I don't know if we'll need to see a detailed log or if the general log will show the issue.

No I can't see the log because Serviio is installed in a jail on a Truenas server.
I'm a 40 year DOS/Windows user that knows nothing about the BSD/Linux directory structure.
I have no idea where the log is to be found in a Truenas server's jail console.
I can't even find where the Serviio program is installed.
A year ago I followed internet instructions to run a command that installed Serviio from some repository.
The installation was automatic and I was quit pleased that it just worked.

Although, to fix the issue, I restarted Serviio's jail and then continued the folder remove until the next 500 error.
I had to do this three times to finally get the heavily corrupted folder removed.

I am now removing any file in my music library that fails to check OK with mpck.exe.
Serviio is currently removing the last of a dozen music folders.
When I get Serviio down to zero I will start to add corruption-cleaned folders back into serviio one at a time.
I hope this time Serviio just works.

Linux file structure can be puzzling to us old DOS/Windows users. When you use it, it becomes more logical, but I still always have to scratch my head a bit when I get into one. And when you have an OS that partitions a section (or jails it as you refer to it) it can really be difficult to find the install location. Under a basic Linux install, programs generally get installed into one of two locations, either the /opt folder (a DOS equivalent would be C:\opt) or under /home/user_name (or under Windows it would now be C:\users\user_name). But since you have a security partition installed, I can't guess where it might actually be located. I have no experience at all with trueNAS.

I went one level into each of these directories and found nothing like Serviio.
