Normalising Audio Volume Levels

HI, Is there anyway to have a constant playback audio level when playing back movies that are stored on my Hard Drives? Each movie seems to have a differently recorded audio level, so if moving from one movie to another, care needs to be taken to avoid having the speakers blast you out of the room.
