Absolute Number format

I would like to request online metadata support for shows that use the absolute number of the episode (supported via xml api by TheTVDB.com) as it is almost always used for Anime shows and are also used for shows that are aired daily.

I checked the serviio site and found that it would conflict with one of the current naming formats, so I was thinking that if this feature was considered the conflicting numbering formats could be easily resolved by something simple like a local user editable list of show titles or series ids to use this absolute number format, maybe as a config file in the program directory to begin with. Just a thought from one programmer to another.

And a big thanks for the work that went into and will go into Serviio.

Re: Absolute Number format

Here are some filename samples:

  Code:
Detective Conan - 639 [DCTP][D62B454B].avi
For this filename there is the title, the episode number (six hundred thirty-nine), the subbing group, and the CRC32.
If I were to look-up the episode number 639 on TheTVDB.com it would be marked as s20e34 (Link to the episode on thetvdb.com)

  Code:
Detective Conan - 352-353 [DCTP][34715510].avi
I should also mention although less common there may be two or more episodes encoded into one long episode, for me at least you can just read it as one episode (ex. 352).

  Code:
[SGKK] Bleach - 354 (1280x720 h264 AAC) [79F0FCD0].mkv          <- Ep# Three hundred Fifty-Four
Yu Yu Hakusho - 107 - The Demon World Tournament Begins.ogm     <- Ep# One hundred Seven
Inuyasha Kanketsuhen - 03 [Taka][4701C36C].mp4                  <- Ep# Three
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - 18 [BSS-Anon][88B19F53].mkv        <- Ep# Eighteen
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood - 01 [Eclipse][70C1405D].mkv    <- Ep# One
The filenames follow a pretty common pattern so detection of the episode number should not be too hard to add.
