GPU Transcoding support (through vlc)

Hi,
since my TV does only support mpeg2 PS I have to transcode most of my videos.
My CPU is not fast enough to transcode HD content eg. mkv h264 files on the fly.

I wonder if its possible to use the GPU for transcoding those HD movies.
I know that mediatomb is using vlc for transcoding and the latest vlc version is able to use the GPU for decoding videos.

So my feature request is GPU transcoding using VLC.

thx for your great work!

regards
oliver

HI,

I don't think VLC will be ever used by Serviio. Once ffmpeg supports it it would be possible of course.
