Make skipping to a certain position in the movie possible.

Hi,

I just used my LG Optimus Speed mobile with its DLNA app to stream a movie to my (Samsung UE46C6200). After that I used the phone's DLNA app to stream content from the Serviio server on my Laptop to my TV.

In both cases I was able to use the phone's app to skip to any position of the movie by selecting it with a Slider UI widget. This was so very amazing. Normally this is impossible to do with Serviio and my TV alone: FF is very bad and selecting any position in the movie impossible.

My feature request is to add a JList in the Serviio UI with all running movies. If I double-click on one of the JList items a little window is opened that looks like a normal media player. In the center there is a picture of the movie (not the running movie). At the bottom is a JSlider that shows the movies position and a JSpinner with the current time. I can either select a different JSLider position or enter a different time in the JSpinner (could also be a JText).

I often have my small laptop close by and in the case I want to skip to a different position in the movie I could do so directly using the Serviio UI. Currently this is impossible.

Cheers,
Sampy

That is interesting but will befinitelly not doing it ;-) You might look at a DLNA control point software, it might do what you're after.

Is Serviio Open Source so one could extend functionality?
