Serviio

I just check Emby and it is a very nice feature i miss in Serviio:
You can customize the "main" categories!
Serviio "only" uses:

• Movies
• Music
• Pictures

Especially for the movies if one has several sources of "movies": for exmaple: "Home videos, Musik videos, Cinema movies,..." they end up beeing mixed into the Servvios movie category/folder. So have my home/famliy videos together with movies in the same category structure, which does not look nice and is somehow confusing.
Also interessting if you have foe example music and audio books on your server to have a chance to separate it on the lowest category level.

I would like to suggest to implement something similar into Serviio.
The result can be an unlimited number of main categories even with custom name.
For example i would create something like this:

• Family videos
• Musik videos
• Movies
• TV Shows
• Music
• Audio books
• Family photos
• Vacation photos

It's a huge undertaking with the current code design, not a priority at the moment.

But even if you think it will be a lot work, can you imagine to implement it, or at least do you see the benefit/need?

You could accomplish something like this oif you have folders with these names and use the Folders category. I have my home videos in a folder called Home videos, shared without retrieveing any descriptive metadata, so that they don't get mixed up with Movies and Series.

Yes, i already have this in place but if you would like to benefit for movies from the section "Titles" all homevideos and stuff is also mixed in.
