Standalone console app?

Usually in other servers this is done by accessing a server-generated webpage at the server's address on a certain port but with Serviio that would entail rewriting the console settings in HTTP and generating a webpage to be delivered to network clients.
Perhaps the console could get its data across the network not using HTTP? Can the method with which the console communicates with the server be replicated remotely across a LAN?
