Serviio

I'd like to see support for playlist files added to Serviio. In particular I'm using an Xbox 360 as my main media client and it supports WMP's .WPL format for playing audio file playlists. I'm sure other clients support other formats as well. Thanks!

I'd like to second this feature request please.

I'm using the Sony BDP-S570 Blu-Ray player and Serviio has helped overcome some of its limitations, but not an important one (for me): playlists. I have a large MP3 collection and the most efficient means of using my library through the Sony menu system are WMP playlists (.wpl files). I would definitely donate if I knew this feature is coming, but as it is, I'll probably have to try another media server to see if I can get playlist support. Thanks for the consideration.

I agree with the posters in the serviio forum that this is an essential feature thats still missing. I have an Sony S370. I have m3u and wpl. I would attach a couple of files but not sure how.

Random file play within the playlist would be very useful.

I also got kicked off although I did see mention of iTunes playlists. I've recently installed Serviio but have been using iTunes for a long time so would love to be able to access those playlists in some way.

Personally, I use m3u playlists and it would great to see these supported. Standard format is as per the forum comment above, but I have some like

where the number after the #EXTINF is track length in seconds, followed by artist, track name. Random play within playlists (and ideally within whole folders, and folders of folders (i.e. so I can select "My Music" and random play that, or random play all Billy Bragg tracks, or random play a playlist or album)) would be great. That same random play of a folder would also be useful for photos - but maybe I'm getting off topic.

There is a ticket for this to be added to serviio in a later version but no exact atm on when it will be added.

I updated the ticket, but wanted to add on the forum that I'd like to see support for .m3u or .pls playlists.
