Music Randomizer

I have all my music stored in the default ITunes Music structure.
I haved added the ..../music/ folder to the Serviio server.

Would it be possible to add a Randomizer to the Music Folders?
This way the songs could play radomly, instead of always going down the same list.

Randomize by Genre, Artist, Album, even the complete Music directory!(Sometimes I like a bit of Christmas Music in the summer)

This would in a way mimic the ITunes feature.

Or is it possible to use the ITunes engine to stream to Serviio?

Thanks for your consideration.

Re: Music Randomizer

0.5 will include a Random music category, that will include random songs from the whole library.

Would this also include music videos?

Cheers,

Re: Music Randomizer

Music videos are not yet implemented. ATM it's quite low on my list, not sure how many people would find that useful.

Re: Music Randomizer

No dramas. I have a heap of music videos and it would be good to stream them to the TV and output audio through the stereo system.

Cheers,

Re: Music Randomizer

I couldn't find a newer topic on this issue - any chance of getting randomize feature within a specific folder, so that contents would not play back in the same order every time?

Re: Music Randomizer

Looking forward to it - it's a feature I'll use a lot. When can we look for 0.5.1?

If we get folder-randomization and FLAC transcoding, I'll probably never ask for anything ever again!

Re: Music Randomizer

It's just fixed in 0.5.1... so you'll get random files from your whole library, but properly this time. FLAC transcode is there as well.

Re: Music Randomizer

Maybe I'm not understanding. I don't want random files from my whole library, i.e., R:\Music, but from folders within the library, e.g., R:\Music\Reggae, etc. Is that what will be available in 0.5.1?

I don't think so, but some renderers like Sony Bravia had these feature, randomize from directories.
