hi

I recently requested/proposed a new feature through the bitbucket system. I appreciate your response zip but it's unclear to me how the desktop OS level protects me. could one not simply scan for serviio default port and have control over servers?

Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS server
trial version serviio 1.2.1

  Code:
-ssl encryption for online media browser login. console needs login!

-Console can be secured by the desktop OS level password. SSL for MB is not a priority at the moment.

ps. i was just about to purchase until i noticed this console issue im having.

I meant you can have users on your desktop OS. You login to the desktop as a user. And only the user can control / run the console.

Don't understand the port question.. ?

correct me if im wrong as I'm no expert in this.

nmap -v -p 23423 XXX.XXX.*.* (ip range)

connect to console without authentication?

just showing a friend some pictures from the media browser on his pc would give him enough information to control my console, no?

I'm no expert either ;-) Console is on a different port than MediaBrowser, so you could block 23423 and leave 23424 open.

yup that would do the trick. what about a feature to whitelist ip's for mediabrowser login?

I think you can achieve the same using other tools.
