Re: RSS Player

no serviio is a media SERVER only, for that you need a media renderer.

What you want is a Remote Media Controller : press button on serviio to start remotly the device renderer.
Its not supported yet, and not sure that Zip would like to implement this.

Re: RSS Player

Theres already iOS and Android apps for this, but only works for Audio

The official Sony Media Remote app does this
You select the DNLA Renderer, choose Serviio as your server, browse files like as if your browsing on the renderer and press play! lets you even control the volume ;)
Sony Bravia 2010 52NX803 - Sony PS3 - Xbox 360
Serviio running on QNAP NAS 639 Pro - 1.6 Intel Dual Core - 2GB RAM and QNAP NAS 121 - 2Ghz ARM Marvell - 1GB RAM
Console using ServiiDroid for Android, ServiiMetro and ServiiWP for Windows Phone and WebUI for iOS

Re: RSS Player

Just imagine you live in a big house that you don't need to walk around inside and outside just to play a video or audio for each devices. It can be done remotely by pressing a few button from one location PC or VNC. Isn't that awesome :D

No not really as if i want to watch something im going to be in the same room as the device playing that file, as i cant see through walls ;) and as u have been told you can do this if you really want by getting a DMC ( DLNA media controller ) and its not something that will be added to serviio console as that is purely for setting up the server and nothing else.
