Box Sets (Presentation Category)

Idea for an addition to Serviio, Presentation Category for Box Sets or collections of films.. IE Fast and Furious and have all the films in the collection listed under their own entry.

Re: Box Sets (Presentation Category)

I would like to see this added as well (to my mind it's the video equivalent of an Album) but it hasn't been supported in the past: see https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... movie-sets. That request was focussed on playing the movies one after the other (which is supported by playlists) but like you, I think its beneficial for the presentation area, grouping movies together.

Re: Box Sets (Presentation Category)

Agreed that it might be nice.

Like DenyAll mentioned, you can do this with Playlists, and I can vouch for it working fine that way. I have all my Star Wars and Star Trek movies grouped this way, and most players will move from one to the next automatically. My older Panasonic TV doesn't, but the Sony and Samsung boxes seem to do it fine. The Roku is supposed to, but there's a trick to it and I haven't tried it yet.

I've done the same with many TV series we have, so you don't have to select each season separately. Of course, with some series that's a couple hundred titles, so you're not going to binge watch them all in one sitting!
