Better Device Detection

I just recently bought a dlna server for my room tv. It is a Sony Streaming Player SMP-N100. Its cheap, wifi capable, and does everything I need. Serviio though, recognized it as a "media player" which it technically is I guess, but I cant stream mkv files to it off of that setting. At first i thought it was the folder having a weird name with non us characters, so I changed it but it wouldnt recognize it still. Changing it to the SONY BD Player has been successful so far. It is a very small complaint, but I just thought I would make it known.

Re: Better Device Detection

Doesn't do much good to post without reading "READ BEFORE POSTING" and doing what it says. It also would help to read the posts and the wiki regarding why mkv files may not play, and follow their suggestions.

Re: Better Device Detection

you mean the sticky about searching for your answer before posting? cause i did that. this isnt a tech issue. its a request for recognizing my device. the file plays when i switch profiles. i did a forum search for my device and it wasnt mentioned yet.

Re: Better Device Detection

Sorry, my bad..I missed your point about the profile switch.

I'd suggest you send zip the details of your device as he asks in viewtopic.php?f=5&t=19 so he can add the profile support and device recognition you need.

Re: Better Device Detection

Sony Streaming Player SMP-N100 has been mention many times in the sony section trying looking in there.

but your best bet is to use the Sony TV profile.

Information

No posts were found because the word smp-n100 is not contained in any post.

Fyi, I did do a search... several times... This is what I got. Hence I figured there wasnt any info in it. It doesnt even detect this topic.

Meanwhile,
Better Device Detection
Its my feature request. This is a suggestion for this device to be detected better by serviio.

Re: Better Device Detection

Beats me how he could do that without the information about your device that he has already told everyone he needs.

Re: Better Device Detection

profile 20 in the console should be the sony SMP-N100 and if you search for this " SONY N100" lots of posts appear by adding the - you are asking for post with sony in them but NOT including N100 so yes no posts appear ;)
