Proposal: Adding subfolders for online sources

These could be both user created and automatically generated:

1. User created:
That would require adding 3 buttons:
- create folder
- level up
- level down
If you had used MS Project you should get the idea: if the item is below the folder and you click level down, that item would get indented and go into sublevel under the folder above.

2. Automatically generated:
If an RSS feed contains links to other RSS feeds, these should be displayed as folders.

Level 1 RSS:
- Item 1 -> link to level 2 RSS1 / Should be shown as a folder and link to the 2nd RSS
- Item 2 -> link to level 2 RSS2 / Should be shown as a folder and link to the 2nd RSS
- Item 3 -> link to content
...

Level 2 RSS
- Item 1 -> media content
- Item 2 -> media content
...

Hope the explanation is clear...

No, the purpose of folders, is to allow feeds to be grouped together and the up/down used to move feeds between folders, or to reorder the folders in the displayed online menu. Each feed is a static entity as defined by the plugin and as such, the displayed online source feeds do not interpret or display nor are they designed or intended to allow reordering of the sources such as other RSS's within the feeds.

The whole idea of an RSS plugin which needs to be maintained with the desired content definition is redundant once we have the ability to group individual RSS feeds together in a folder and move them at will.

Having user created folders/levels is one thing. But having folders created automatically, if a link in a feed links to other feeds is quite another story. With Yahoo Pipes and the like you can create multilevel feeds that work just as our local folders do. And these can populate automatically. And all that in just a few clicks.
Creating and maintaining multilevel folders in Serviio GUI would be quite a mess, instead of just adding one top level feed.

Folder hierarchy will come to the plugin API at some point.
