Panasonic DMP-BDT500 no MKV playback
Hello
I am completely new to Serviio and the DLNA scene in general.
I ran a couple of searches in the Forum but I was unable to locate a solution to my problem (so apologies if this has already been answered)
I initially ran Serviio on my Pana VT50 and it works very well on the TV.
It allows me to switch embeded audio streams and subtitles in MKV containers - Very impressive indeed.
The problem is that the VT50 is unable to surround sound pass-through as it downsamples the audio for reasons unknown to me (I believe I read somewhere that this is due to some copyright issue)
The thought was then to use my BDT500 player as the client as this (hopefully) would be able to output the surround sound I so desperately need.
The BDT500 does register Serviio and I am able to browse throught the folders.
I can even see the MKV files but they cannot be played - Serviio chews on them for a while and then reports that it is unable to play them.
The listed files look as if their play time length is zero minutes.
I suspect that this may be related to player being unsupported by the the transcoding profiles, but as I said I am new to this and I dont know how to build a create a new profile
Please advise
