TX-42AS650E & Subtitles

Hello guys,

First of all please forgive me - I am new to this whole TV DLNA extravaganza business :)
I browsed through the FAQ section as well as Serviio Wiki, but haven't spotted the answer to my problem.
I installed Serviio because it seemed like the only DLNA server that supports subtitles for Panasonic TV sets. I can stream my video no problem, however the .srt subtitle files are not displayed. Tried this using Generic DLNA profile, as well as Panasonic 2013 one, but to no avail. Transcoding and subtitles are enabled in Serviio.

I'll appreciate your help.

Okay, I think I got it. This is how it seems to work:

1) When you're in the Generic DLNA Profile .SRT subtitles will be displayed for .MKV files. This is TESTED & VERIFIED.
2) When you're in the Panasonic Viera (2013) profile . SRT subs will be displayed for .MP4's (TESTED & VERIFIED). Someone in a Polish forum also said they will be displayed correctly for .AVI files too, but I haven't tested it yet.

It would be cool to have a Serviio profile that would combine both - I wouldn't have to switch back and forth, but for the time being I'm not going to bitch about it (most of the stuff I watch is MP4 anyway) ;)

Hope it helps if anyone's got problems with Serviio + Panasonic + Subs.

What is your settings on the Delivery, Subtitles tab in Serviio Console?

Ok, that's odd... During the weekend all file formats seemed to work with subtitles in the Panasonic Viera (2013) profile.
@DenyAll > my settings are:
Enable subtitles - ticked. Everything else unchecked. Character encoding: UTF-8.

Glad its working but surprising - I didn't think the Panasonic supported subtitles on MP4's for example without burning them in.
