New to Media Browser-struggling!

Hi! Folks. I've been using Serviio for a few years now to basically stream music and videos from my PC to my system via a Sony S370 Blu Ray Player.Largely it's been v/succesful and my largeish collection of both is played regularly. Following the loss of Youtube to the Sony system I discovered that I could {theoretically) watch my subscribed channels via Serviio's Media Browser. I bought a license and began setting up my system to access this 'new world' of entertainment/information. I've followed Serviio's instructions, I'm sure, to the letter. I've done the port forwarding thing, set the DNS address, got a tick on the Connectivity test, found a link to the NASA 2 site. All looks set to go. However, when I open up Media Browser on my laptop I can see the Audio and Video files, but nothing shows under the Online tab; and in the Online folder via my Blu Ray Player I get the "there is no playable file" message, So....
is there some part of the process I've missed or misunderstood (I've 'searched' these forums for similar threads AND read the FAQs AND read Patter's ReadMe on Blu-Rays etc)
OR is my BDP S370 not compatible with the Media Browser. If so could anyone recommend a suitable alternative?
AND/OR does anyone know of a detailed setup tutorial for silver haired Noobs like me?
Thanks, in anticipation, for reading this and for any helpful advice.
Mart.

Re: New to Media Browser-struggling!

You will have to explain in detail what you entered in the console under online in order for us to point out your error.
Either the NASA link is invalid (did it test green as a live stream) or you need a Web Resource plugin. If Serviio cannot access the stream it will not display it as will be shown in the debug log.

Re: New to Media Browser-struggling!

Thanks for your prompt reply. I checked the URL via VLC, and it turns out to be a pup! This is fast becoming v/frustrating; I keep reading connected threads and it seems that what should be relatively straightforward is fraught with complications which simply weren't there when installing the non-pro version....that was a breeze. If I can try your patience a little further, could you suggest a 'known' URL I could try. I have all the plugins from the Plugin forum in the relevant Serviio folder. In the meantime I'll go back to Serviio's How To pages and try and figure out where (if anywhere) I went wrong. Thanks, again, in advance.

Re: New to Media Browser-struggling!

Again, many thanks for your help. I think we have achieved some success insofar as I checked out you URL via VLC and it worked. I then spent more time checking out the dynamic DNS thing. Got that properly sorted (??) added the URL to the Library, got the green ticks as required. And HEY!! the stream appeared in the Media Browser and plays! (with a bit of stuttering) OK now to check the Online content on my Sony S370. And, yep, there it is. Only problem is it won't play. Perhaps it's a Sony thing or some mismatch between the laptop and the Blu Ray (any ideas?) Now to find more content and play, Thanks once again,
Mart.
